It's on again... Helltown Hotrod's  Rock 'n' Roll & Retro Music Weekend

OMG what a great Helltown Hotrods Rock n Roll weekend we had last year even with the rain !!!


But this year we have bought it forward 2 months to the beginning of October so rain be gone and great weather will prevail !!



Everyone had a great time on our last event, and everyone wanted to book again .... so Vivian and I will see you all back in October where we can all catch up with old and new friends and dance the weekend away. 



So What's new for October's Event ? Read on.... 'cos we got some great things happening.

We loved the entertainment , but we wanted more... So this October we have Little Stevie & the Tail-fins coming up from the Gold Coast  !!! and we are excited. They will be entertaining you all on Saturday 5th October and what a Saturday we've got planned, but more about that below. 

Friday's Overview

Friday's day is gonna be fantastic, starting the day off at lunchtime with Maria Whittaker entertaining you all with her beautiful voice as she sings Country and Rock n Roll classics from 12:00pm - 4:00pm 

Maria will finish off the afternoon then the Rock n Rollabillys will entertain you for the evening from 5:30pm - 9:30pm 

Dinner will be served around 6:30pm and it's fantastic. We're looking at a great home cooked slow smoked pulled lamb or pork mains with veggies, cauliflower cheese, green beans, bread roll with either gravy or apple sauce and a dessert like sticky date pudding and ice cream for $35 so its great value. 

Saturday's Overview

Have we got a great Saturday, so let's show you what we got planned. 


At 2:30pm We are putting on our great Elvis Tribute Show as we entertain you with all those fantastic Elvis classics at the Lake side stage. 

Our smooth concrete slab dance floor in front of the stage is also ready so plenty of room to break out those moves for those wanting to get some practice in for the night. 

This is a great show and shouldn't be missed and should finish up around 5:00pm

Doug will be singing a number of great Elvis rock 'n' roll songs, some gospel and some belting ballads - Bring your tables and chairs and settle in for a great afternoon. 

At 6:30pm - 9:30pm Little Stevie and the Tail Fins  will entertain you with their great traditional Rock n Roll, and Swing Jive classics back at the garden stage. 

Dinner will be served around 6:30pm 

For those looking for a little more entertainment afterwards head on down to the outdoor cinema screen area where we will be playing Baz Lurhmann's "ELVIS" Grab a drink from the bar, bring your camp chair and enjoy a nice warm spring night with friends around a campfire as you listen to the great soundtrack of this amazing movie. 

Sunday Bonus

For those leaving Sunday afternoon, we will have some entertainment for you Sunday lunchtime from 11:30am - 2:00pm

It's gonna be a great Getaway Weekend !

Helltown Hotrods is the perfect location for our Rock n Roll weekend, with plenty of Dancing, an Elvis Concert show, some Country Boot Scootin' more Dancing, Fantastic Entertainers, Great Diner Food and Home Made Evening Meals, Licensed Bar, and 3 Nights of Free Camping, oh and an out door big screen cinema show. 

So girls bring your Poodle Skirts, and fellas dig out those retro bowling shirts and pegg pants for a great retro event at an iconic location.

It's the perfect place to make new friends and chill out to some great talent with entertainment starting around lunchtime until the evening on both Friday and Saturday. We have endeavoured to create an easy going, getaway weekend that's big on friendship and good times.

If you have a Caravan or Camper Trailer then we are offering you as part of your weekend saver ticket purchase 3 nights free camping accommodation. Please note these are NON POWERED sites and we only have 80 of them so get in early.
You will need to be fully self sufficient. 

We have 6 acres for you to setup at onsite. Bump in Thursday from 10am - Leave anytime Sunday. This is an open paddock, no reservations so first in Best Dressed... but we only have 80 sites so book early and try to bring a friend or two.

We will be supplying entertainment from Friday afternoon through to Friday Evening, and Saturday Afternoon through to Saturday night. 

This is a Licensed bar event, so absolutely NO BYO alcohol. Helltown Hotrods are a fantastic local business with a great Diner and Outdoor BBQ area, selling fantastic food. Please support these guys buying their great food where you can.

So Guys and Gals here's what's going on.

Entertainment
Friday 4th October

Under cover garden area - dance floor available.

Artist - Maria Whitaker (Garden Stage)

12:30pm - 3:30pm - Rock n Roll, Rockabilly, Some Country and Boot Scootin, as well as some classic retro favourites 

Maria is an experienced soloist, used to playing smaller venues, clubs, and country pubs. She has a wide repertoir of music that's great to listen and dance to. We are happy to have her as part of the weekend and look forward to her entertaining you on Friday. 




Traditional Rock n Roll DJ Set 
3:30pm - 5:30pm - We will set up some classic Rock n Roll tracks for those still itching to stay and dance or alternatively Enjoy a little "Me Time" back at your van whilst our next act sets up. 


Artists - The Rock 'n' Rollabillys (Garden Stage)

5:30pm - 9:30 pm - Rock n Roll, & Rockabilly, Jive & Swing. 

The Rock n Rollabillys are fantastic. A trio of 2 lovely ladies who definitely keep their lead guitarist on his toes !!! The RocknRollaBillys are an entertaining 50's and 60's style band who specialize in music suitable for retro dance styles of those eras including Rock 'n' Roll, Rockabilly, Swing and Jive etc. 

 They also play well known popular music in these styles. Everything about this band screams retro 50's and 60's from their outfits, their instruments, their hairdo's and personas - These guys are the real Deal. 




Saturday 5th October

Saturday's gonna be busy so here's the lineup


Artists - Michael Healy

12:30pm - 2:00pm - Best get your dancing shoes on cos Michael is gonna Rock your Roll with some great 50's classic with a follow up Buddy Holly Tribute from Peggy Sue to That'll be the day and everything in-between 




Main Lake Stage - Open Area

Artists - Doug Charles Elvis Hawaiian Concert Show


2:30pm - 5:00 pm 


Doug Charles is a PROFESSIONAL ELVIS TRIBUTE Artist and the organiser for this weekends great event. Doug won the Parkes Elvis Festival 2023 "Tribute to the King" competition amongst a tally of 25 other competitors. 

Doug was also recently invited to sing on the P&O Elvis Cruise in March 2023. He has been playing many clubs, and venues and brings a High Energy to his shows that his audience loves, he will be performing his Hawaiian Elvis show on the Main Lake side stage. There is a concrete dance floor to the side for a great dance. 



This Elvis Tribute is full of showmanship, jumpsuits, glitter shirts and all the glitz and pizazz that an Elvis show should bring to an event. 

With Doug Charles giving away scarves just as Elvis did for those lucky ladies and all those great songs you remember from two huge icons this is a Great Tribute Show not to be missed, so get those camp chairs in early and close to the stage for a ring side view but don't get to comfy as you get ready to sing and dance to classics like Blue Suede Shoes, Johnny B Goode, Blue Hawaii, CC Rider, Unchained Melody  and so much more.



Break

5:00pm 6:30pm - Enjoy a little "Me Time" back at your van whilst our next act sets up. 


Dinner Served

6:30pm - Time to get into our famous home made slow cooked smoked pulled lamb or pulled pork, veggies, cauliflower cheese, green beans, bread roll, gravy or apple sauce.


Artists - Little Stevie and the Tailfins. 

6:30pm - 9:30pm - Time for the evenings entertainment as these guys literally rock the night away and you dance off that great meal and dessert ! Little Stevie bring a great live Rock n Roll sound with their Drummer and great guitarists. So get ready to dance the night away back at the Garden Truck stage .

OUT DOOR CINEMA EXPERIENCE

Movie - Baz Lurhmanns "Elvis"  
9:30pm -11:30 pm - Starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks in this great Elvis Biopic of his life with a music score that will leave you reliving the legend of the King.

Helltown Hotrods is a blast from the past straight outta the 50's and 60's, with their retro cars at the front and that classic Americana Deep South diner look you know it's gonna be a great place to hang out. 

They have just completed their lake side outdoor Smoked BBQ Barn and Bar, where they serve their fantastic pull pork or beef meats, with some slaw and potatoes ready to be washed down with some great beers or very alcoholic slushies. 

For those wanting to catch up with friends old and new over a beer and a chat, inside has plenty of booths, tables and seating, a retro 60s corner with old retro couches setup just like a lounge from yesteryear so plenty of phone pics here.



Beer Garden Stage 

This year Helltown Hotrods installed a lake side stage for bigger shows right on the lake, that were unable to be accommodated inside the beer garden.  

We are looking forward to a new smooth concrete slab dance floor going in before December, so you can get up and dance. 
We try to sit people close to the stage and please feel free to bring your camp chairs, small tables and enjoy our afternoon Elvis show. 



Toilets

There are toilets located inside the main beer garden area. There will also be two portable toilets close to the Lakeside Stage and Barn Bar


Out - Door Cinema. 

Helltown Hotrods have recently installed a large 7m wide outdoor cinema. 
So bring your tables, camp chairs, and flasks of hot chocolate and wrap up warm for a great experience as we screen some great 50s Rock n Roll movies after sun down. 


Licensed Bar - NO BYO

As you leave the campground you enter into a Licensed Bar area, this means NO BYO alcohol. 

Please do not embarrass yourself by trying to smuggle in alcohol. We will often have council inspectors checking these events out and if it is seen we have broken the rules they will shut down the weekend immediately, so again NO BYO at all. Don't be that person !!! 


Restaurant 

Helltown have asked us to ensure attendees do not bring in their own main meals into the event area as this is still a working restaurant - 
You are more than welcome to eat at the campsite what ever you like of course, but please help support Helltown Hotrods by purchasing meals from these guys whilst off the camp ground. 

Remember it's the generosity of Helltown Hotrods that have allowed us to put on this event so please support them in return. By the way they have great food. 


Around Town. 

Gympie is 10- 12 minutes away to the North, Noosa is 40 minutes to the South. They have everything there you would need if you forgot something. 


Motels

For those who are not bringing their Caravan, Gympie has a wide variety of accommodation facilities with plenty of motels within 10-15 minutes, enabling everyone to enjoy the event.  
We have contacted Y - Motels in Gympie which have 20 rooms available including some family or multiple guest rooms if you do not have a caravan. 

They are our first choice for Motel Accommodation. So please support these guys.

FREE CARAVAN CAMPING

Facilities

70 - NON POWERED SITES ONLY 


Helltown Hotrods have been very generous in providing 6 acres of their land and allowing 70 non powered sites available for use. 
PLEASE NOTE we are not a caravan park or facility, this is a free camping spot. 

Whilst we have endeavoured to limit the amount of spots to 65 by assessing the land area, you will need to exercise common sense in setting up. 
We ask you to think about your neighbours so please do not spread out too wide. We have allowed as seen on the map 9m wide by 12m long allotments. 

These will probably NOT be marked, but will give you an idea of setting up locations. If you can squeeze up that's great. If you don't have an awning to open that saves some room ( ok if you have one) If you have a vehicle that can fit in-front of your van rather than the side that saves more.

 Just be mindful that we are all here to have a great time so please be respectful firstly of Helltown Hotrods generosity in supplying this free camping spot and please be respectful of your neighbours and remember to have a great time. 



Self Contained EVERYTHING

There are no facilities so take out everything that you brought in. No Dumping rubbish. 
You bring it - you take it. 

Make sure you have plenty of water for 3 days !!. 



Pooches

Yes you can bring your WELL BEHAVED pooches, but they must be on a lead at all times and please don't forget poop bags !!!


Generators

You can use your generators from 8am - 10pm 


Fire-pits

Located in restaurant and also portable toilets near BBQ Barn Hut and Lakeside Stage. Strongly advise that if you are self contained you only use a chemical toilet ( Camper trailers and tents this means you !!!)

Bump in times

We have opened up bump in times a day early to give everyone time to get in, 
So Bump in starts from around 10am Thursday 30 November  and is strictly on a first come first pick basis.

REMEMBER TO SMILE

This is a fun weekend, please be patient with everyone., This is our second event here, If all goes well we will make this a twice a year event, so please be kind and courteous to each other, the staff and the entertainers. 


Caravan Free Camp Spots

We are NOT reserving spots or places . However we ask that those in first, start the first LINE along the back fence and then around so that we can ensure we fit everyone in. 

We will have a couple of people directing the traffic but again please take the initiative by following the line around. 
You are all experienced caravaners so just think of this as a free camping spot where you take the lead. 

There are no better spots that others , but early birds will have less of a walk to the event. Some of the ground is undulating in places so some caravan level may be required.

Ladies wearing high heels please note that depending on your caravan location you will be walking across the paddock, so bring some flat shoes. for those at the far end of the paddock If you want to take your car you may find a location closer to the entrance of the camp ground you can park and walk the rest.
